About Me
Like so many people out there, I grew up in the church. Unlike so many people out there, I actually really loved growing up at my church!
My youth group was my home away from home. The people of my congregation were so wonderful. I learned “the basics,” but with an over reliance on grace (and an under reliance on God) I found myself like so many others - my faith in my early twenties was waning.
I made excuses for why I didn’t plug in to a church in the new towns I lived in. I found myself listening to unbiblical ideas some ‘churches’ (and I use that word loosely) were teaching. I unintentionally slipped into what I thought were harmless new age practices of manifesting, energies, etc.
The world started to become more gray as I moved away from the light. I would never have claimed not to be a Christian in that season, but in hindsight my faith at that time was, at best, on life support.
By God’s grace, and I mean that literally, I finally started going to a Spirit filled church when I lived in San Diego for nine months. I started to see Christianity in it’s trusest form and in a whole new light. I was reading the same Bible stories I grew up reading, but with fresh eyes.
That’s what I will be writing about and, hopefully, encouraging you with here. “Taste and see that the Lord is good!” Psalm 34:8

My prayer is that my writing encourages you to go deeper in your faith. If you find these artciles helpful with that and you want to encourage me, I would be honored by your subscription.
HOWEVER, please give to your church first, organizations you care about second, and if you want to throw an old dog a bone after that point then by all means please subscribe.
You can always subscribe FOR FREE, too. :)
Regardless, I appreciate you reading, commenting, and sending ideas my way. Thanks for being here!

Stay up-to-date / How Substack Works
Substack wants me to say, “Never miss an article — every new post is sent directly to your email inbox. For a spam-free, ad-free reading experience, plus audio and community features, get the Substack app.”
Or don’t, I don’t really care lol.
That said, we all get too many pointless emails. My *hope* is that the articles from me that reach your inbox will be rare enough that you don’t get annoyed, but frequent enough that you stay encouraged.
Please keep me posted on what applicable topics you’d like me to write about next or any faith questions you have. Thanks!
